THE council members who run St Helens should takes visit to Chorley.
I work there one day a week and it’s an amazing thriving little Lancashire town.
It has a new leisure centre, revamped town centre, new bus station and is full of vibrant shops owned by private individuals.
There’s also a thriving market. The town is well laid out and is clean , with a huge car park correctly sited at one end.
Traffic congestion doesn’t seem to be an issue and neither is the town full of beggars.
There is also the welcome absence of gangs of young men in dark tracksuits hanging around the place.
The councillors in this town blame government cuts for most of St Helens’ problems, so how does Chorley manage to put St Helens to shame?
Mr C, Eccleston
