OUR little girl brought a letter from the police home from school the other day with what should have been a hard hitting message on safe parking.
They were warning parents that vehicles parked inconsiderately on pavements or at junctions would be given a ticket.
Good for them, it’s a growing problem which poses a real hazard to young ones.
But whoever composed the note let the side down with a number of spelling and grammatical gaffes.
In the first line ‘parking inconsiderately ‘ became ‘parking inconsiderably’ and then to sign off they called themselves the ‘Neighborhood Team’.
Presumably they will be issuing tickets in New Jersey too!
Having said all that, I trust they do start slapping parking tickets on a few windscreens around local schools. I nearly got mown down twice as three cars mounted the pavement and drove straight at myself with little one in tow.
Then it’s running the gauntlet of vehicles the size of armoured cars mounting blockades on the pavements.
