REGARDING two issues raised in the Star on March 15.
The first concerns the Under One Roof advert on page 47.
I believe it’s discrimination to ‘herd’ the public into only using the internet to apply for housing.
What happens to that section of the community who cannot use the internet; indeed it’s those most in need of their services who are possibly being excluded.
I think it is out of touch with reality by those in the ivory towers of a workplace to assume everyone is a) computer literate; b) can afford one; and c) be able to get to a public point to use one.
The second issue concerns the Torus/ Helena Partnerships article on page 6.
If the proposed expansion of the group is leading to cuts in accessibility to services offered, eg no telephone contact for proposed Under One Roof applicants then I would object wholeheartedly to the amalgamation with Liverpool Mutual Homes.
Torus need to get their act together and solidify the base they already have and ensure existing procedures, practices and employees are all working in sync before adding to existing problem in the group.
