SOME people wonder why we are celebrating our 150th anniversary.
The four townships came together as one to deal with the uncontrolled growth of the town.
They could start to install pavements. They could start to install gas street lighting. They could deal with cholera epidemics. Sewers and other projects began.
That is what we are celebrating, that there was a vision for a better town.
The fact they achieved it then gives us both hope and optimism that the new vision for the town announced now, will be achieved.
