FURTHER to your article by Cllr Alan Jones, about the above, I agree with him that the ruling Labour party are playing politics with children's lives.
They harp on about government cuts, yes that is a fact, but given that there are over 70,000 households in the St.Helens Borough, an increase in council tax of slightly less than 4 pence a week would cover the cost of the school crossings.
Come on St Helens Council, you are always pontificating about having to make tough decisions, make a simple one, keep the school crossings or isn't a child's life worth 4 pence a week.
