IT was interesting to read about the plans to extend the car park at St Helens Junction, which is desperately needed.
I thought I would share a recent experience to show just how ridiculous the situation is.
I had a work appointment in Manchester in the afternoon and so I decided I would drive to the Junction and take a train.
Unfortunately I hadn’t factored in the parking problems.
There was not one space available and, as often happens, the surrounding streets were packed with other cars.
So I decided to leave and drive up to Lea Green. But the problem was the same there – not one space was free.
Let’s just hope the extension at the Junction solves the problem.
