Well deserved, Dr French!
CONGRATULATIONS to Ray French on his honorary doctorate, as reported in last week’s Star.
He was my English teacher at Cowley in the 1960s.
I was lucky enough to be coached by him at rugby too.
It was strictly rugby union at Cowley then but the headmaster allowed Ray to bring the four trophies to school that Saints won in 1966.
A well deserved honour for a top man.
