FOLLOWING last week’s letter (This hacks me off, Star, May 25) I spent the week looking out for men with big ladders cutting down trees  for their wood burning stoves.

This does not happen, most people buy it from one of the many shops selling the logs.

Obviously the reader who is hacked off does not know the council say as long as people use “smokeless fuel” people  have no problem. Also local coal merchants know which coals  we should be using.

We have enough fly tippers and it’s they who spoil our beauty, not wood burners.
