WE are getting increasingly concerned with the amount of what we are presuming are stolen cars being chased from Prescot Road ending up on Stafford Road because it leads to the back road into town.

In the past few weeks it seems to be increasing and it is especially worrying as it is only a month since Violet died.

We have twice been outside getting children into the car when a stolen car has driven near us at high speed.

There are a lot of children live on Stafford Road and this is becoming an increasing problem.

Another one went down the other night at around 8.15pm, there were police everywhere and the helicopter was up.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s great that the police are on to this but the idiots driving the stolen cars seem to be using Prescot Road as a gateway through to Liverpool.

People are worried about knife crime and yet we suspect that the biggest problem at the moment is stolen cars.

We would like to know just how big a problem this is as we are quite obviously not seeing even the tip of the iceberg.

These cars are being driven at high speed through housing estates without regard for any person, life or property.

Is it about time that the council looked into monitored CCTV in town and on the main routes through to and back from Liverpool, especially Prescot Road?
