SO much weight is placed on the ‘let’s get out’ result of the Brexit vote last year that our leaders are now merrily riding roughshod over the wishes of almost half our population.
How about extending the same ‘democratic’ device to the people of Rainford?
With all the outrage over proposals to build on green belt land, has anyone considered a referendum that would give the village’s residents a chance to stick two fingers up to St Helens Council and return to their Lancastrian roots.
I’m sure quite a few people given the chance to vote on REXIT, would welcome the opportunity to move to West Lancs.
Remember, Rainford used to part of Ormskirk Parliamentary constituency until the takeover by St Helens on April 1, 1974 when the appalling Merseyside was invented and imposed on us.
What do you think?
