THROUGHOUT the consultation on the council’s draft Local Plan, the council called on the public to come up with “alternatives” if they didn’t agree with it.
That seems a bit rich given the public only had eight weeks to respond while the council had years to put the plan together.
I offered no alternatives because the council has not convinced me St Helens needs anything like the number of houses they are planning.
The council should come up with a much better scheme based on the borough’s actual population not fudged future figures.
