I WAS pleased to read the iconic Tyres building is to be transformed into luxurious apartments.
Although there are quite a few sceptics I can only admire and applaud anyone who has the foresight along with the courage and determination to undertake such an ambitious project – I wish them every success.
In the same edition of the Star I read that people from all corners of St Helens are being called upon to demonstrate against the proposed use of green belt land for building purposes.
St Helens Council in their wisdom always claim that there are no brownfield sites suitable for building purposes.
There must be dozens dotted around the borough which should be built upon before even considering using agricultural land.
