I WAS in Asda shopping the other week. I approached the checkout and started unloading my basket.

A staff member, who had been standing behind the adjacent till, which was closed, suddenly came from behind the till and started bellowing instructions about removing the Hallowe’en displays around the tills, gesticulating with a pointing finger, that kept crossing my eye line and nearly took my nose off once.

I might as well have been invisible. I’ve been shopping in Asda for years and never had any complaints before, but this was rude and, frankly, unacceptable.
