IT IS true that loneliness can impact on health (St Helens Star, September 1).
Two of the five steps of wellbeing are connecting with others and learning something new.
There are many charities in town which would benefit from extra volunteers and the wealth of experience older people can bring is beneficial.
It’s a good chance to meet new people and learn some new skills.
There are also lots of free courses available and craft groups people can join.
Given the percentage of people who are lonely, it’s a shame they can’t be brought together.
