I HAVE read the article on page 38 (Star, August 25).
I was amazed that the spokesperson from the council said that there had been consultation, as we only found out a week before work on the chicane commenced.
The consultation consisted of the people present being told that the chicane was being installed ‘as soon as possible’.
All representation concerning safety was totally ignored, as was the inconvenience and danger caused to the nearest households to the chicane.
The anonymous ‘complainers’ have still not been found.
No one I have spoken to has ever made a complaint, and all have expressed deep misgivings about the siting of the chicane.
Regarding the supposed complaint by ‘the school’, who has complained? The head? Teachers? Classroom assistants? Pupils? Were they ‘consulted’? The chicane is in now and what a dog’s dinner it is.
The council jackboot strikes again.
