I WAS at my mum’s in Stafford Road when an idiotic youth rode past on a motorbike revving loudly, with no crash helmet and no number plate.
I saw him later in Elephant Lane when he pulled into my path causing me to brake heavily.
I tried to ring the police on 112 thinking it was the non emergency number. It wasn’t, so I apologised and said it wasn’t actually an emergency. I was then was told to end the call immediately and redial 101 which turned out to be a premium call on my mobile, so I hung up.
I have since been told by a friend that the same happened to her in Elephant Lane, only there were two, doing wheelies, before going across the park (where children were playing) and down Whittle Street, The police need to take hold of this before someone gets hurt.
