I NOTE in the Star responses regarding how the recycling points scheme works. However, typically the answer given, like all politicians answers, doesn't answer the question that was put.

This was: "How do they know individually who is putting out the most recycling?".

The response says they weigh it for each area — this at best can only give an average figure per ward, or maybe even an average per person per ward, which isn't even accurate as the recycling vehicles collect from more than one ward during a journey!

What is to stop me saying I put out all four full containers every week. In which case I should win every month.

So come on St Helens Council — in the words of a well known 60s song, just — How Do You Do It? Seems to me it's just a lottery, in which case aren't lotteries supposed to be registered as such?
