I WALK my dogs on the Clegg in Thatto Heath and have done for a long time no matter what the weather is.

I have had issues in the past with the litter the fishermen leave behind.

On two occasions recently on November 29 and December 20 my dogs have been tangled in fishing wire.

I have the photos of the said wire they have left behind.

Now don't get me wrong, this isn't directed at all fishermen there, just the irresponsible ones. If I have to pick up after my dog, then why can't you clean up after yourself?

Each time I made sure I gathered all the wire together these people left behind and binned it. It only took a few minutes of my time, so why can't those who use it do the same? Fishing wire doesn't snap if pulled and can cause injury for those entangled. You don't have to pay to fish there so the least you can do is take your rubbish and wire with you. You have a wheelbarrow full anyway so don't worry. It won't weight it down too much.
