IN response to 'Residents object to plans to convert neighbourhood home into flats' (Star online, May 28) the bare facts are people are in desperate need of homes, yet they cannot afford a three-bedroom home. So it's a case of converting existing three-beds, that are very much out of reach for most families, into two one-beds and housing people in both flats or leaving it empty until someone who can afford the rent to apply for it.

All the while the waiting list is growing and the housing association doesn't get any income from rent to plough back into other such projects. This is just a case of NIMBY.
