THEY’VE moved our benches, not impressed.
Some older people so distressed.
A place to rest their weary bones
Before getting on the bus back home.
A place to meet, to pass the day
A place to catch up with your mates.
A place to sit, your bags to sort.
To check on shopping that you’ve bought.
If we make enough commotion,
Show the bosses our emotion,
Will be enough their minds to change.
The centre they will rearrange.
We’ll wait a while and bide our time.
Hope that the benches reappear.
Life will once again be fine.
The shoppers will all sit and cheer.
