NOTHING fills me with dread more than knowing another 'bin day' is approaching.

The various vessels we are given for putting our rubbish in are pathetic and leaving the lids off them means that there is almost certain to be a tsunami of trash thundering down the road. For some unknown reason lots of people tend to put their bins out at night and leave them to the mercy of the wind. I am often kept awake all night by the sounds of beer cans and pop bottles bouncing down the road.

This morning (March 30) I retrieved four empty six-pint bottles of milk from my small front garden, along with a colourful variety of assorted detritus. The estate was a complete mess.
