FATHER Riley and the governors of Holy Cross Catholic school would like to express their deep appreciation to the wonderful hardworking staff and inspirational headmistress on their recent Key Stage Two results which place our school fourth highest out of 53 in the borough.

Moreover, the school has also received a letter and a £ 1,000 prize from the Department of Education for being one of the most improved primary schools in the country in terms of attainment and progress with disadvantaged pupils since 2011. Only 2.5 per cent of primary schools all over the country have received this award.

We are delighted and proud that not only do our children received such an excellent education academically but also a caring and spiritual one and the Liverpool Archdiocese recently rated us an outstanding Catholic school.

Theresa Butler,

Chair of governors, Holy Cross RC Primary School
