PERSONALLY I do not care if these TV debates never take place as most of our politicians are only concerned with their own selfish interests as recently shown by the behaviour of two former senior ministers.

All this going on after we trusted them to clean their act up after the last questions for cash scandal. This sorry bunch just don’t get it and they continue to treat the electorate with contempt.

Now it’s highly possible that the SNP will be kingmakers in a hung parliament and will demand a heavy price from Ed Miliband to secure their backing if he wants to reach the top of the greasy pole.

This will mean many more billions going north of the border for more concessions. To me, Nicola Sturgeon is a much better at playing this political game than any of our sorry lot of MPs and is dedicated to the getting her electorate a better standard of life.

David Cameron has backed his party into a corner and can only play the one card he has left: a straight in out vote on the European Union. This vote would take place during the next parliament, even though his party are mostly pro EU but if this is the cost of power it is his priority, not the long term future of the country.

Until election day we’ll be bombarded with evasive answers and even more promises that cannot be delivered.

What is certain is those who occupy the palace of Westminster will remain in their well-paid feathered cocoon and will protect their own interests at any cost.
