I am the managing director of a company seeking to expand business in St Helens and have recently rented business space in the council’s Catapult Centre, in Haydock Street.

Whilst unloading equipment into the unit, my van received a parking charge notice.

This was despite the fact that the warden knew we were unloading very heavy goods from the van.

While I accept that parking may be a problem, the most discouraging thing is to issue parking fines to business vehicles which were not causing any obstruction and were only parked there to allow the unloading to a new business.

I can safely say that attitudes need to change and the wardens who are employed in this town need to learn some common sense.
