CAN someone please tell me why Sutton is being turned into a free-for-all car park?

St Helens Junction station car park was extended but it seems the homework had not been done to the amount of vehicle owners wishing to use the station.

Now we have the situation where Station Road has become a spare parking ground for the overspill.

Some cars are parking for eight or more hours per day and causing traffic flow to be severely restricted. Many people now cannot park outside their own properties due to this inconsiderate car parking.

Just around the corner there is also a problem with people parking outside the hole-in-the-wall at the TSB despite signs warning this is not allowed.

Ask any bus driver or wagon driver how many problems this causes. It can be especially dangerous when the school, which is less than 100 yards away, is opening and closing. Unaccompanied children are in the situation of having to go between these illegally parked vehicles.

I have seen so many letters about the rigid rules in St Helens over parking. Why is there such a difference in the rules for Sutton? What will be the excuse when serious accidents occur?

Please don't tell me authorities don't know about this as the matters must have been discussed.
