WHAT a great thing to see the Remembrance Day attendance and support for those who have put their lives on the line for us, very often we take so much for granted as regards our freedom and way of life achieved by the servicemen and women.
It was also noticeable that many, many young people were in attendance all over the country.
Seeing a programme about the return of the unlucky ones who were being returned home to be laid to rest, the most heartbreaking scene was of a young woman and her little boy awaiting the return of her husband who had been killed in action. The war was over for him but there was a longer battle ahead for this young lady and her son.
Let us hope that with the support of their families and friends that they can find some comfort in the knowledge that their sacrifice is the ultimate input to our freedom.
