AFTER reading the story entitled 'Crackdown on litter sees 164 fines given out' I would like to let you know about a couple of areas where St Helens Council could really clean up.

One route is Roper Street, Merton Bank Road, Wood Steet, Pocket Nook Street and on to St Helens Technology Campus on Waterside.

The worst area on this 15 minute walk starts from outside the shop next to Ayeshire Metals and continues in the small bush area just to the right of the now closed Blue Pearl Restaurant and also the bush area to your left once you have turned into Waterside just after the canal.

If you look into the canal at this point it even has a large yellow Grit Bin and at least three traffic cones in it together with lots of other rubbish carelessly thrown away.

Once you are past the canal and you have the bushes on your right hand side just take a good look at all of the bottles of various sizes.some still with liquid inside them. There are also wrappers and empty packets from various foods and snacks.
