IF YOU are guilty of texting and driving or think it's 'no big deal' then listen up.

I was very nearly killed by a young woman texting and driving while I was crossing a very busy road to catch the school bus two years ago. She came speeding round a corner.

If I had not jumped back, (into the other lane of traffic, she gave me no choice!) I would not be here today.

She didn't even brake or swerve, presumably she was too busy texting to see me.

Now I am 18, a fully licensed driver, it is my biggest gripe when I see other drivers texting while behind the wheel.

I flash or beep them if I spot them, which is not hard because you're all over the roads. My phone is in my bag in the back of the car whenever I am driving. If I can do it that so can other teenagers who are supposedly the ones "attached to their phone". Nothing can be so important that you have to text when behind the wheel, even at traffic lights. Save a life, put the phone down.
