THE police have had all the powers they have needed to crack down on this for ages, yet they haven’t.
Despite police vans and cars constantly rolling down Church Street - I’m always uncertain if they are on their way to Pound Bakery or playing ten-pin bowling with citizens of St Helens going about their business.
Just a suggestion, perhaps they’d do better to actually walk the beat in the town or have more on bikes?
I have noticed they’ve put some new CCTV signs up, that’ll do it. Except that they are located so high up on the lamp-posts I doubt anyone will see them!
