EFC Heritage Society search for Haydock C&B team's famous eight
EFC Heritage Society, which researches and records the history of Everton Football Club, is trying to locate a photo dating back to 1943/44.
The photo depicts eight players from the Haydock C&B team who went on to join Everton. Players on the photo include Eric Moore, Martin McDonnell, Wilf Birkett, Jackie Melling, Billy Lowe, Fred ‘Fritzie’ Jones, Frankie Finch and Johnny Morley. Also featured were John Tilley, Ned ‘Needy’ Davies, Jack Taylor, Horace Smith, Jackie Hardman (team trainer) and Harold Mills.
