I WRITE in response to the letter sent by the nameless person complaining about dogs in Taylor Park and in particular dogs around the cafe.

Yes there is a ‘club’ of responsible dog owners who enjoy a coffee and chat outside the cafe – this is called socialising. We are there hail, rain and snow and not just in fair weather looking to criticise other park users.

This is yet another grumpy numpty who thinks the park is solely for families and children who turn up when the sun is out. The doggie club is usually in situ for about an hour mid morning with all dogs in control.

People with children or who hate dogs (which is what this is about) are free to have a coffee and pop inside the cafe, with its marvellous facilities and friendly staff, or outside with other users, either at tables or adjacent benches.

Most dog owners in the park are responsible and clean up after their dogs. We cannot be expected to do the same for an irresponsible minority who do not follow the rules.
