CAN anybody blame the apathy being shown by the electorate?

We have the Liberal Democrats giving new meanings to loyalty and treason as they knife each other in the back while jockeying for position to pick up the poisoned chalice to complete their journey into oblivion when the present incumbent takes up his place as a European Commissioner.

Meanwhile the Labour party is busy disowning its New Labour tag as it tries to re-brand and erase Tony Blair from its history as it struggles for a new identity. Nobody gave them a mandate to take us into two wars which caused so much misery not to mention the £30 million or so it cost us all.

The Tories hope changes Angela Merkel is planning in the way the EEC is run can be claimed as a success by David Cameron as he tries to wriggle out of his referendum promises if he’s elected next year. He has looked after the seriously rich with his tax regime while at the same time placing all the austerity cuts on the poorest members of society.

UKIP has really upset the apple cart as the disenfranchised are staying away from the polling booths allowing UKIP to take up the slack but are a force the main parties cannot take for granted I will not be voting at the General Election as I don’t feel our current crop of political clones offer us much. They have no experience of how normal people live.

I fear for the young people of our country as we have let most of our manufacturing industry fall into foreign hands and with it the prospects for this and future generations who will feel betrayed as our politicians just bicker and score points off each other.

It’s time our political masters put the interests of our country first instead of their own selfish ambitions.

Whoever votes for sound policies maybe can regain our trust.
