IN response to Sue Waterhouse’s letter in Thursday’s April 3 Star about how our town needs a clean.
True, there are some good shops in St Helens such as Tyrers, OD’s and M&S as I too shop in these stores, but I would too welcome a Primark in town.
It would also create jobs for locals.
You only have to read page 27 of last week’s Star to see that many of the town’s residents are working and earning below the living wage.
I also wish the council would re-think its car parking ethos instead of buying iPhones and iPads for its councillors. I can think of better ways of spending taxpayers’ money.
Star reader,
Garswood
