Why has our crib been ‘shoved out of the way’?

I WAS shopping in St Helens during the week and looking at all the Christmas decorations and various grotto type displays which I thought were really good.

However when I came to look for the crib I couldn’t find it at first.

I eventually found it in a dark, dismal corner outside the now closed TJ Hughes shop.

The background being dull grey tiles with two commercial stalls in front of it. I nearly missed it and I was looking for it.

How sad that ‘the real reason for the season’ – to celebrate the birth of Jesus is shoved out of the way – or so it seems.

Sorry Maureen, you must be one of the few people who think Christmas as something to do with Christ and all that stuff. Few people think about Christ all year long, why should they think about him on his birthday? When you think about it(The holiday season) is so busy. We tend to forget the reason for the season. Holiday comes from the words holly day. Anyway Maureen have a very,very merry Christmas and a Happy New year.

The birth of Jesus and the existence of Christ never happened and is all fake, so I wouldn't go worrying about it! Just spend spend spend and leave the crib in the corner!

i like the use of recycled old stuff they have used to build the one outside the B&M shop,a few old robins and a wishing well very festive!!!!!!!!!!

We should celebrate the Christmas holidays I n the summer when it is more comfortable to do what we do at Christmas.Celebrate the birth of Christ at the proper time because the original time got hijacked many yrs ago with the shopping and different. cultures that the way things go.

I jumper. The important thing is,we celebrate it. After 2012 years wants a couple of months one way or the other? Besides, there is nothing like cold weather to bring family and friends even closer together.Happy new year, and put your socks on when you go to bed.
