Lib Dem John Beirne: 'Grasp the chance for change'

JOHN Beirne insists Labour can no longer take St Helens for granted as time ticks down on election day.

The Liberal Democrat, who is attempting to overturn Dave Watts’s majority of almost 14,000, believes his track record as a local councillor for 20-years proves that he is in touch with the community.

He said: “A vote for the Tories, or anyone else, is wasted. It’s a straight choice between a failed Labour government or a new strong voice at Westminster.

“We need investment, jobs, help for small business and a fair income tax policy, based on the ability to pay. And above all, an MP who lives and works in St Helens.

“This time, Nick Clegg is proving there is a real chance for change and it’s up to St Helens to grasp it.”
