POLICE uncovered a cannabis factory in St Helens on Monday.
Acting on local intelligence, officers raided a semi-detached house on Pocket Nook Street at about 2.30pm, and found more than 300 cannabis plants dotted around the property.
Forensic experts examined the drugs den before removing the plants, along with a sophisticated heating and lighting system.
Officers are now hunting the offenders who were running the factory.
Superintendent Peter Edge commented: "Controlled drugs bring misery to many members of our communities and we will continue to take positive action against those involved in their use distribution or production.
“I would urge members of the community should they have any suspicions about premises people or vehicles to contact the police direct or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
