POLICE have today arrested a man in connection with a pub fire attack that left a 21-year-old man with severe burns.

The Star understands a suspect is being questioned in relation to the incident during which a blazing missile was thrown into a crowded beer garden.

The flame-filled rag was thrown over the wall of The Springfield Hotel, in Thatto Heath, shortly before 8pm last Saturday, sparking chaos at the rear of the pub.

The victim was taken to Whiston Hospital and suffered 18 per cent burns to his body.
