A TODDLER who was shot in the leg by a pellet fired from an airgun was released from hospital last night.
Surgeons removed the pellet from the lower leg of the 18-month-old girl on Tuesday.
She was wounded in the leg while walking in fields, known locally as the Duckeries, off Derbyshire Hill Road and Fleet Lane, Parr at about 11am on Sunday.
It is thought the little girl was shot after wandering over to bushes on the fields with her family's pet dog.
Moments later the mother noticed blood coming from her daughter's leg and later took her to hospital.
Her injury was described as minor, but detectives say the situation could have been much more serious.
A police investigation to find who fired the pellet is continuing.
