A MAN was stabbed twice in the chest on Saturday morning.

Emergency crews were called just after 8.20am to the Hard Lane area where the man, thought to be aged in his 20s, was found with wounds on the right side of his chest.

Doctors at Whiston Hospital were put on standby as the victim was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Neighbours living in Hard Lane reported significant policing activity on Saturday.

Few details about the incident or the man’s condition have been released.

The man is the sixth stabbing victim in St Helens that the Star has reported on in the past four weeks.

None of the incidents have proved fatal.
