Zoo Café Bar has always been a top venue for a great night out. But with the addition of Coffee Republic, Zoo Café Bar is also set to become the place to be during the day.

Based at 52 Westfield Street, the family-run business opened in November 2003, expanding in 2008 in order to meet the demands for its growing popularity.

It was the first bar in the town to open a continental-style outdoor pavement area, and last week saw the contemporary bar introduce its daytime coffee bar concept.

Managing director Paul Griffiths said: “After being approached by Coffee Republic, my daughter Toni and I decided to open up the café bar during the day.

“We’re ideally placed for shoppers and college students and thought it was a great idea to be able to offer people a modern and comfortable place to have a coffee and a bite to eat.”

Coffee Republic has become one of the UK’s leading coffee chains since opening its first shop in 1995, developing an acclaimed reputation for providing great tasting coffee and delicious food.

As well as its renowned latte, Coffee Republic has a vast range of coffees to choose from. Why not try a flavoured syrup in your cappuccino?

And, if you prefer, all drinks can be made with either soya milk or full fat, semi-skimmed or skimmed milk.

As well as offering the finest coffee, which is roasted in Milan, Zoo Café Bar has a wide range of alternatives, including hot chocolate, teas and infusions and a selection of cold refreshments to enjoy in the comfortable surroundings during the day.

There’s also a selection of sandwiches and sweet treats, such as muffins and cookies, if you’re feeling peckish.

“There is comfortable seating where you can relax with pals, or if you want to catch up with college work over a coffee then we have free Wi-Fi,” said Paul.

“We wanted to offer something that little bit different too, so there’s traditional games, such as Connect 4 and Jenga, available to use.

“Zoo Café Bar regularly has live bands on in the evening, which are really popular with customers, so we’re also looking at introducing acoustic sessions with up-and-coming artists on a Friday afternoon.”

Zoo Café Bar’s daytime opening hours are from 8.30am to early evening, Monday to Saturday.
