A free taste of movie magic

SCHOOLCHILDREN can explore the world of movies as National Schools’ Film Week celebrates its 17th birthday.
Children across St Helens will join thousands across the UK who can watch blockbuster films free of charge.
The aim of the festival is to support classroom teaching through links to their curriculum, related to individual films.
Kicking off this week, Cineworld on Chalon Way will be hosting the event, which will see 2,500 screenings in 570 cinemas across the UK.
Teachers can book their free tickets online at national schoolsfilmweek.org.
The programme is as follows:
- Thursday, October 18 – Hugo
- Friday, October 19 – We Bought A Zoo
- Monday, October 22 – Puss In Boots
- Tuesday, October 23 – The Hunger Games
- Wednesday, October 24 – The Woman in Black
- Thursday, October 25 – Rango [PG, 107]
- Friday, October 26 – Dr Seuss’ The Lorax (sensory impaired)
