Huge probe into Hillsborough police Huge probe into Hillsborough police

The biggest ever inquiry into police actions in the UK is to be launched after a coruscating report on the Hillsborough disaster.

Police watchdog the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) said a large number of serving and former officers will be investigated over what happened on the day of the tragedy in 1989, and during the alleged cover-up afterwards.

Director of Public Prosecutions Keir Starmer also said he will look at whether any individual or corporate body should be charged over the football stadium disaster, which left 96 people dead.

a farce and a waste of tax payers money. like everything else in the sick world of ours its all about compensation. we know the truth the police lied 20 odd years ago.

it was wrong and a disgrace but what the hell will it achieve now.

any officer who has left the force wont lose his or her pension, they may just get a slap on the wrist, or they may just say they were told what to say by senior officers. it will never end it will drag on for years and years.

if we wanted the truth we have got it now we cant trust the police but we should know that they all pee in the same pot so lets move on and leave it in history.
