Crucial Crew gets safety first message
12:00pm Friday 12th October 2012 in News
MORE than 2,000 primary school pupils across St Helens have been doing their bit in a life-saving project called ‘Crucial Crew’.
The scheme involves a number of organisations across the borough, including the council, police and fire services, aiming to promote awareness of personal safety and social responsibility among young people.
Year 5 students have been made aware of dangerous situations and how to react to them.
Councillor Richard McCauley, Cabinet Member for Environmental Protection and Safer Communities, said: “This is a really vital course to give our young people the life skills needed for a healthy and safe future.
"The pupils really enjoy the roll playing and the safety information stays with them throughout their lives.”
