Two bailed over Matalan theft spree
A MAN and woman were arrested in St Helens following a police operation targeting thefts from Matalan.
Officers from Operation Santiago, which was launched in response to theft and anti-social issues in St Helens town centre, worked alongside Matalan in response to reports of a number of thefts from the Todd Road store.
The 39-year-old woman and 32-year-old man, both from Liverpool, were arrested by plain clothed officers on Thursday, October 4 on suspicion of a number of thefts across the North West.
They have been bailed pending further enquiries under the condition they must not enter any Matalan stores across the UK.
Anyone with any information in connection with the incident is asked to call Merseyside Police on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
