A TRAINEE solicitor wants St Helens businesses to get lippy when they sign up for a big fundraising campaign.
Madeline Fahey of DTM Legal is inviting firms and other organisations to take part in the DTM St Helens Movember Challenge, in which men across the town will grow their moustaches for the entire month of November.
Movember is massively popular worldwide with almost 900,000 people taking part last year.
It has been run since 2003, with the aims of spreading awareness of men’s health, specifically prostate and testicular cancers and raising money for cancer research initiatives, such as Prostate Cancer UK and the Institute of Cancer Research.
DTM is supporting the campaign by encouraging businesses to form a fundraising network, in the hope that a town-wide effort will help to raise a substantial sum of money.
The commercial law firm has organised a range of great prizes for the winners of the St Helens campaign.
Participants will also see the best mighty moustaches featured in the St Helens Star, which will be following the progress of this new St Helens ‘growth industry’ throughout November.
A special event will be staged at the end of the campaign.
Madeline said: “Having decided to undertake the Movember challenge within our own firm, we recognised what an innovative and team-building approach to fundraising it was.
"We want to encourage the St Helens business community to take part alongside us and help us to show the rest of the UK what St Helens can do whilst working together.”
DTM will issue all participants with the information and materials required to ‘get growing’ on November 1.
Participants will be asked to commit to raising a minimum of £100 per company and employers will be able to match what their employees raise if they wish to.
Anyone at all will be able to donate to their preferred team in St Helens so it is a good opportunity to encourage clients and contacts to back your business’s efforts.
