It's a knockout success for Willowbrook Hospice

TEAMS from three north west housing associations battled it out in a series of charity challenges to raise money for Willowbrook Hospice and the Oliver King Foundation.

The squads from Helena Partnerships, Knowsley Housing Trust and Liverpool Mutual Homes raised more than £800 through the It’s a Knockout tournament at Haydock Racecourse in St Helens, with challenges including Human Football Table and Bish Bash Obstacle Course.

Kim Dillon, OD business partner at Helena, said: “There was such a positive atmosphere on the day, and all of the teams really got stuck in, even if it meant getting soaking wet or covered in grass stains.

“The charities we raised money for do a fantastic job of supporting people in our communities, and we hope our donations will help to make a difference for them.”

Families and friends of the housing association teams turned out in their hundreds to support the event, which included a raffle, with prizes donated by Bramall Construction and Forrest.

Diane Humphreys, fundraiser at Willowbrook Hospice, said: “We would to thank everyone who took part in It's A Knockout to raise money for Willowbrook Hospice.

“Helena Partnerships and Knowsley Housing Trust have shown great support to us over the years, and we are delighted that Liverpool Mutual Homes are now also involved.

“It costs £2.8 million each year to provide specialist care to our patients, and we couldn’t do what we do without the kindness and generosity of the local community.

“Their support really does mean so much to us.”
