A MAGICAL forest was overrun with pesky fairies and cheeky elves at an event held at Sutton Manor Community Woodland.
An Elf and Fairy family fun day there attracted hundreds of families to the forest area to enjoy a day of activities including woodland crafts, enchanted storytelling and marshmallows around the fire.
Visitors dressed to impress as the forest became filled with fairies, elves and wizards, all enjoying the themed activities organised by The Mersey Forest group.
Among the hundreds was mum of two, Dawn Holden, who said: “We have some beautiful countryside just outside our front door but we don't always see its beauty - an event like this brings people to these beautiful places.”
Also in attendance was Mayor of St Helens, Cllr Geoff Almond, who kick-started the day at noon.
A special surprise was also in-store for fairy birthday girl Abigail Atherton, who celebrated her third birthday at the event with her mum Ellen and family.
Abigail, who was pictured with Mayor Geoff Almond, received a gift-bag full of goodies to help make her day extra special.
The free day was just one of several events organised by The Mersey Forest group and it’s partners as part of the ‘Access to Nature’ scheme.
