Shoplifter is sent to jail

A SHOPLIFTER who persistently failed to stick by the terms of a community order has been jailed for 16 weeks after a spate of thefts in St Helens.

Wayne Guion, 39, of Brick Street, Warrington pleaded guilty to six counts of theft that were committed between six days in summer.

St Helens Magistrates’ Court was told Guion’s spree started on August 15 when he stole £36 worth of chicken fillets from a Co-Op Late store in the town.

He went on to steal, meat and cheese with a combined value of £156 and laundry liquid worth £25.
