ORGANISERS of the Solar King Pride of St Helens awards have moved to thank generous companies and people who have lent further support ahead of next week’s ceremony.

The inaugural awards, which will celebrate the best of the town, on Friday, October 12 is heading for a sell out.

Alan Foster & Timpson’s engraving has donated awards for the winners, while boc boc, the sponsors of the courage award, are providing flowers and decorations.

The Eccleston-based florist and coffee shop will also offer advice on transforming the function rooms at Langtree Park for the awards dinner.

George Wright Brewery, meanwhile, are selling the Pride of St Helens celebration ale at a selection of local pubs and will be serving glasses at the ceremony.

The auction is also set to raise funds for charities supported by the Steve Prescott Foundation.

Drinks firm IRN BRU will provide a hospitality box for a match in next year’s Super League season, courtesy of St Helens resident Steve Smith.

Lifelong St Helens supporters Kevin and Kathryn Bell, who live in Wakefield, have donated four hospitality tickets for the 02 World Tennis Tour finals at the 02 Arena in London.

Vicky Hewitt, another Saints fan, has offered a Land Rover Discovery Experience Day at the picturesque Peckforton Castle.

Other St Helens companies to donate prizes include Beyond the Fringe, 02 in Rainford, Tyrers, Marks & Spencer and the Clock Face Hotel.Any more companies who would like to support Pride of St Helens can contact Martin Blondel on 07971792859.
