St Helens health commissioning group to hold meetings in public

A GROUP made up of GPs and other clinicians which has taken on a pivotal role in local healthcare will hold their governing body meetings in public.

St Helens Clinical Commissioning Group is tasked with commissioning health services for communities in the borough following the NHS reorganisation.

Their next meeting, on Thursday, October 18, will be held at St Helens World of Glass from 1pm and all member practices, staff and public are invited to attend.

Dr Steve Cox, clinical chief officer of St Helens CCG, said: “This is our first governing body meeting to be held in public.

“It is important that we are accountable to and engaged with the people of St Helens and we encourage local people to join us.”

Papers for the meeting will be available on the website, www.StHelensCCG.nhs.uk, which launches on Monday, October 8.

So you hold the meeting at 1pm on a Thursday when the majority of people will be at work will there be a evening venue ?.

Seeing as i will be unable to attend this meeeting the question i would ask will a person be told that they are being treated by a NHS organisation or a private company ,and the surplus of money if any left from the private company would that money be put back into the NHS for patient care as the NHS organisation will do or will the surplus go to shareholders as dividends

Absolutely bang on its nearly always when the majority of the public cannot attend the meetings of any sort.
